- Additional Information: The OSRADPÕs primary function is to provide oil spill contingency planners and response personnel with the best possible tools available. To accomplish this goal, the OSRADP uses its annual budget to underwrite 10 to 15 research projects. Since the Fall of 1993, the OSRADP has supported a wide array of projects, such as field investigation and digital mapping of pipeline crossings on the Red and Atchafalaya Rivers; development of an oil brine spill restoration plan and symposium; training and research for blowout prevention utilizing full-scale well facility; a pipeline GIS for Monroe, Shreveport, Westlake, Sulphur, Lake Charles, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Lafayette; field application of AM fungi for restoration of an oil/brine spill site; phytoremediation for oil spill cleanup in upland habitats; use of ammoniated bagasse (ABS) for remediation; aerial videotape survey of the Louisiana coast; detecting the chronic effects of oil development in Caddo Lake; wave-current online system for oil spill contingency planning; trajectory analysis planner for Calcasieu and Sabine Lakes; the Louisiana GIS CD; and many more.
